First there was surgery, then there were delays, then the LIES of Home Depot and their horrible insurance tanked and so surgery was never performed. Welcome the VA to the rescue. Now that I'm no longer insured by Home Depot the VA is going to pay for everything! What a strange twist of fate. Surgery is NOW back on the table as a possibility. I went to see my new endocrinologist today and went through a battery of pokes and proddings, tests and such. All our efforts using diet and dopamine agonists have run into a brick wall. I have stopped the growth of the tumor but not it's damaging effects. Both the doctor and I agree that I am suffering far too much damage to continue this long-term approach method. Had I had an earlier diagnosis I believe this would have completely reversed the tumor but it was discovered much too late. My new doctor is going to consult some neurosurgeons in Dallas, perhaps Temple, and then get back to me on scheduling the transphenoidal endoscopic hypophysectomy... that means they drill up my nose into my brain and yank that tumor out. Once again I am looking at some very tricky surgery looming in my future. I'll post more when I know more.
