The mysteries are starting to stack up. Shortly before the debut of my book Coffee Cup I took a trip with my brother to see my family in Carlsbad, NM. I hadn't seen my mother and sister in quite some time so we made a pot of coffee and got talking. The conversation seemed to naturally gravitate toward the weird and obscure. It is no secret that I am a conspiracy magnet. In my book there is a chapter that deals with an incident that happened to me when I was very young involving hypnosis. Upon telling this story to my sister it triggered a memory in her that just adds another puzzle to the pieces.
She remembers a family trip to Dallas, TX in which several times she would wake up in the dead of night and the lights in the room would be on and toys are magically floating around the room on their own. She wanted to know from me if I knew of this activity and what to make of it. It had freaked her out so bad she never told anyone up to this day.
The hypnosis incident that happened to me also happened at this house in Dallas.
There is a hypnosis trick that is usually reserved for stages and secret societies. The hypnotist puts a group of people under a deep trance. The hypnotist then tells the hypnotized that every person around them on stage is completely invisible and cannot be seen. The crowd is then entertained when the people on stage are told to hold up various objects. To the hypnotized person it is as if the objects are floating in the air by themselves, as if by magic. The trick is not supposed to be used off stage.
What went on all those years ago in Dallas has never been fully explained. My memories have been stolen. Secret societies have a reputation for screwing with people for various reasons. I never found out where my clothes went that night. Anyone out there also have bad or weird experiences with hypnosis? Post-hypnotic secrets gone wrong perhaps? Criminal use of hypnosis? Sure love to read your comments.
